Two Decades of Dedication to Natural Beauty
At Blue Stone, we believe every mineral tells a story waiting to be revealed. For over 20 years, we’ve dedicated ourselves to the art of lapidary—transforming raw earth into timeless beauty through skilled hands and genuine passion.
What started as a love for natural stones has grown into a full-service destination for collectors, jewelers, and crystal enthusiasts. We hand-select each mineral, cut and polish with precision, and create one-of-a-kind jewelry that honors the natural character of every stone.
Years of Experience
Our Founder
Gerry Sullivan, founder and owner, opened Blue Stone in Loveland in 2007 after running a store in Cedar Rapids for 12 years. A student at the New Mexico Institute of Mining and Technology, Gerry has been a professional mineral collector since the ’80s, bringing 48 years of experience in prospecting, crystals, and minerals. His deep knowledge and passion for the field are what set Blue Stone apart from other gem stores. There is hardly a question he can’t answer! In his free time, Gerry enjoys spending time with family and friends, going to concerts, gardening, and collecting rocks.
Owner
Lea Louscher, Blue Stone Partner, is from Loveland, Colorado. Lea had been taking classes at Front Range Community College while creating leather projects and learning how to wire wrap. During the summer of 2012, she was going into Bluestone to buy materials for these projects so often that Gerry offered her a job.
“Gerry taught me about how to identify minerals & crystals. He also taught me how to better use the rock-hounding tools and navigate good locations. I truly love everything about the gems and minerals of the world.”
Lea creates beautiful wire wraps, sells her art, and makes cabochons for the store. In her free time, Lea likes to paint, metalsmith, and hang out with her family and cats 🐱
